A Case of Isaacs’ Syndrome in a Child
Abstract
A 13-year-old boy had suffered from muscle twitching, cramps and progressive muscle stiffness in bothlower extremities for 3 months. Electrodiagnostic study showed continuous spontaneous motor unit activity,giving the appearance of doublet, triplet, multiplet potentials. Based on the clinical and electrodiagnosticfindings, a diagnosis of Isaacs’ syndrome was made. He responded extremely well to treatmentwith carbamazepine.
