A Case of Femoral Neuropathy Induced by Retroperitoneal Hematoma after Percutaneous Coronary Intervention |
|
Abstract |
Percutaneous coronary intervention is increasing in these days because of cardiovascular diseases. The incidence of retroperitoneal hematoma after percutaneous coronary intervention is 0.15% to 0.44%. We report a rare case of 66-year-old man developed right femoral neuropathy induced by ipsilateral retroperitoneal hematoma after percutaneous coronary intervention. Anterior displacement of right iliopsoas muscle by hematoma in ipsilateral retroperitoneum appeared in abdominopelvic computed tomography. The motor nerve conduction study showed absent compound muscle action potential in right femoral nerve. The needle electromyographic study showed abnormal spontaneous activities in right vastus medialis, vastus lateralis and rectus femoris muscles. |
